This past Saturday, the staff and interns had the day off for a canoe trip down the Wolf River. We departed for our trip Saturday morning at 11.
Eight hours, 2 lightning storms and almost 17 miles later, our trip finally came to an end. We were supposed to go 4.5 miles in a couple of hours, but little did we know that the first bridge we would pass under was actually the 'second bridge,' where our journey should have ended.
We knew something was up when we passed under I-10 and we were closer to the Gulf of Mexico than we had originally intended.
