Semper Fi and God Speed

Lagniappe is losing a dear friend. James Belonzi is a summer construction intern here at Lagniappe. He is a member of Army National Guard and he wishes to become a chaplain for the military. We are sad because he has to report to the National Guard so he is leaving to spend some time with his family before he reports. We are sad because we no longer able to enjoy time and fellowship with him. But we know that he must go, so we must forget our own selfishness. James has made a commitment to the US military and to God that he would work in faithful service preaching His Holy Word to those in the military. All of us here at Lagniappe will feel the loss of our dear friend, but we know that he is being called somewhere else and that his time here has come an end. Verses 4, 5, and 6 of the Battle Hymn of the Republic "He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat; He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat: Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on. Chorus. In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me: As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free, While God is marching on. Chorus. He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave, He is Wisdom to the mighty, He is Succour to the brave, So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave, Our God is marching on. Chorus." So to our dear friend James, may you always sound forth the trumpet of the truth and love of God. May you always show the beauty of Christ, and how He died to make men holy. Our God is marching on and may you march on with Him. From Zephaniah 3 verse 17 “The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” So to our dear friend James, Semper Fi and God Speed! Soli Deo Gloria! James Belonzi
