Hoping in what lasts...

The state of BSL can leave you wondering about progress. The state of my sin leaves me wondering the same thing. How does the Lord use such self-absorbed people to help a desolate land? But its dragging our eyes off the silt lines and the sin, and keeping them on the Lord and His unfailing goodness. How He loves us, enough to chasten us! Enough to destroy coastal communities and to build them back with fallible people. Enough to convict each of us that we're not worthy or even capable of 'saving' the Coast, but HE IS. What joy there is in getting out of God's chair. "Remember my affliction and my wanderings, the wormwood and the gall! My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me. But this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 'The Lord is my portion,' says my soul, 'therefore I will hope in him.'" ~Lamentations 3:20-24
